These traditional German shortbread biscuits are simple to make and look great.

  1. Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Pre-heat oven - 175°C
  3. Attach K Beater
  4. Add butter, icing sugar, salt and vanilla extract to the Kenwood Bowl
  5. Mix then scrape bowl - 1 min, Speed 5
  6. Then add egg to the Kenwood Bowl
  7. Mix then scrape bowl - 1 min, Speed 5
  8. Then add cake flour to the Kenwood Bowl
  9. Mix - 1 min, Speed 1
  10. Then add ground almonds to the Kenwood Bowl
  11. Mix - 1 min 30 sec, Speed 1
  12. Transfer dough to work surface
  13. Wrap with plastic wrap
  14. Chill in fridge - 30 min
  15. Place the dough on a work surface
  16. Roll the dough into small balls
  17. Shape the balls into tapered sausage shapes and curve to make a crescent shape
  18. Place on a lined baking tray
  19. Bake - 15 min, 175°C
  20. Let cool on round wire rack
  21. Dust with icing sugar
  22. Serve
