This quick jambalaya recipe makes a perfect 'one pot' midweek meal, easy to prepare and full of flavour. You can substitute the chorizo for sausage for a more authentic dish and simply adjust the amount of hot sauce to your own taste.

  1. Attach the Stir Tool and Stir Assist Clip
  2. Add olive oil to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Cook with splashguard fitted until hot - 2 min, 120°C, Speed OFF
  5. Then add chorizo to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  6. Cook with splashguard fitted until browned - 2 min, 140°C, Stir 3
  7. Then add onion, garlic clove, green bell pepper, celery stalk and fresh thyme to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  8. Cook with splashguard fitted until softened - 5 min, 120°C, Stir 2
  9. Then add bay leaves, paprika, chilli flakes, salt and black pepper to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  10. Cook with splashguard fitted until fragrant - 1 min, 120°C, Stir 2
  11. Then add long grain rice to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  12. Cook with splashguard fitted until coated - 1 min, 120°C, Stir 1
  13. Then add chicken stock to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  14. Cook with splashguard fitted until just boiling - 2 min, 105°C, Stir 2
  15. Cook with splashguard fitted until liquid has evaporated - 11 min, 100°C, Stir 3
  16. Then add king prawn and tomato to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  17. Cook with splashguard fitted until cooked through - 5 min, 120°C, Stir 3
  18. Then add hot sauce and fresh parsley to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  19. Stir with splashguard fitted until combined - 30 sec, Stir 1
  20. Then garnish with fresh parsley
  21. Serve with lemon
  22. Serve
